As always, I love a tale told in first person. There's a particular voyeurism allowed when the reader has an opportunity to delve into a world that seems more like a diary, allowing them a sudden step into a person's inner thoughts and dreams.

Ms. Tolomei's Visionquest is not the normal shape shifter tale. Set in a medieval world, a beast roams the streets, killing everything in its path. Ilenio, a young peasant, is tormented by nightmares of the murders, and the problems that plague his family. The use of first person allows the reader to delve more deeply into the horror of the murders, and the extent of the brutality inflicted on the victims, as well as the illness suffered by Ilenio's sister.

As the above stated,this book was very hot and,at first,I completely liked it but all is not as it seems. Are the sex scenes too much? For some but ,what I found completly disturbing was(spoiler alert)the long graphic and,disgusting death scenes that really put me off the book and when I thought Terry was somewhat redeemable he really was not. I don't have a weak stomach but too much dark and not really any light just is not for me.The author was well informed on the bdsm scene(I guess)and her charecter development started to become ok and then it wasn't.halloween will never be the same. This story of love and acceptance was a very intimate look at two lovers finding a bond between themselves. The book shifts between remembrances of Andrea and his former lovers, the present with the two men and the vision scenes with Lidia and her lovers as the story flows from one to another. At times, I found this a bit confusing but I can also understand the direction the author chose to follow in this endeavor. The characters are very vivid and the progression in Valerio’s attitude towards Andrea as he faces his true feelings are portrayed very well.
